Henna Tattoo in Jacksonville, Florida

The artist of Spirit Vision Henna has 18 years experience in this temporary body art. She is able to do traditional, tribal and other styles of henna tattoo.

These are a few samples of the kinds of styles of henna art you can get every Saturday from 12:30 - 5:00 pm at Midnight Sun, 1055 Park Street, Jacksonville, Florida, 32204.

Henna tattoo is not at all like ink. It is an herbal dye. Each artist will make her own special blend to give you the longest lasting stain possible

Henna tattoo is a hot weather art form! When you get your henna, be sure to walk around and enjoy some sun. When you are warm, your pores open and the henna can penetrate the skin to stain it.

The first pattern is an original design. It is a cuff and one finger style.... this is a very popular style this year and there are many samples on line on our Facebook Page.

The second pattern is that of another artist. My client brought it in from the web. in general, I prefer to do my own designs, and I am able to do art in this pattern style.

The last is another original. Usually clients will look at photos of art I have done and pick a few they like. I will make a special design for them based on their style choices.

It is very important that you do not have any body lotion or antibacterial soap on your skin when you come to get a design, the henna cannot penetrate that chemical, and you will not get a good outcome.

Many people think that these pictures show the final tattoo. In fact these are photos of the paste on the skin.

The finished color is always an reddish color. If you take good care of your henna you may get a dark red, ruby red or black cherry red.

It is up to you. The longer you leave the paste on the skin, the hotter you get, the deeper the paste will stain.

It is important to read the aftercare tips on this blog so that you will have the best color.

You can also see photos of henna on and off the skin on this blog. Prices start at $15 and go up. Some of these designs were $15 and one may have cost a bit more.

I will be sure to work with your budget. If you find a very complex design then it  is best to make a private appointment. Walk-in henna day is a day for everyone to get a taste! I am able to complete a simple henna tattoo in 10 minutes. More complex patterns take longer...... but the Midnight Sun is full of wonderful imported treasures!!

Henna Tattoo for the Back of the Hand - Quick & Easy

Here is an impromptu henna tattoo pattern for the back of the hand.

You can see that simple design elements were repeated to create this mehandi.

I used 2010 Organic Rajhisthani Henna powder from the Henna Sooq! A very nice powder indeed.

This paste is made with that fresh henna - pulverized a bit with mortar and pestle to ensure freshest and finest of color, and blended with fragrant and relaxing essential oils as well as my henna tea blend.

The stones you see are all for sale at The Midnight Sun at 1055 Park Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204.

Please call me directly to schedule your henna appointment. Design books are on hand, or browse the large portfolio of images on this blog or the galleries on my henna site.

Please know, henna does not take well on the back of the neck, nor on the chest or the side. It is usually difficult for most people to get good color on the lower back, but if you are willing to make the investment in aftercare, you can get good results.

This is a temporary body art that will last at least one week. Only freshly made paste is used... and there are no dangerous chemicals in my henna. I hope to see you soon. Namaste, Spirit Vision Henna.

Henna Tattoo Friday 6/10 at The Midnight Sun

Experience the true beauty of henna. Have a lovely design on the palm of your hand.

The deepest, reddest, darkest stains are possible on the palm. Henna is more magical, as it is seldom that people see our palms.. so henna is a little surprise!

Of course you may choose to have henna on the foot, wrist or ankle..... and Westerners want henna all sorts of other places as well.

Visit the FAQ page on my site for up to date info on how to get the best henna tattoo.

This season I am using organic Rajhisthani henna, the 2010 crop with some lovely new essential oils to give you both a relaxing body art experience...... and great color.

(Nope.. no needles are used..... it doesn't hurt, and the design can last one week or longer.)

Spirit Vision Henna artists will be at the Sun from Noon til 4 PM. Designs start at $15. Call 993-7455 FMI.

Lower Back Tattoo in Henna

Here is another wonderful henna tattoo pattern from Sangeet (applied by Ann George of Spirit Vision Henna in Jacksonville, Flordia).

My client said she got very good color with her last henna tattoo. Although the back is not usually a place to get the best color, she took great care of her henna tattoo. She left the paste on a good while, and got the design area warm for the first day and applied olive oil regularly after the paste was removed. I hope to post a photo of the finished color.

If you have had a henna tattoo & would like to send your photo of the finished color, please mail it to me.
